10 Week Pregnancy Update

Yay- my first bumpdate! In case you missed it, we are expanding our family this fall with baby #2! Read our pregnancy story here. I’m so excited to start sharing regular updates with you all throughout my pregnancy. This morning, I had my first doctor’s appointment for baby and finally got to hear the heartbeat and find out our due date! Keep reading for this month’s bumpdate.

Due Date

We think that I’m currently 10 weeks, 2 days along - making the baby due around November 3rd! This is always a guess though this early on during pregnancy and will have more of a definite answer come my first ultrasound next week.

Cravings

Up until this week, I haven’t had many cravings. I had really bad morning sickness in my first 6 weeks of pregnancy, so it was more trying to figure out things that I could eat! Now that I’m reaching the end of my first trimester, I’ve been starting to crave carrots, smoothies, and Chick-fil-A lemonade - which are the same cravings I had with Aimery!

Aversions

Everything besides toast! Including water. For a whole month, I couldn’t eat anything besides bread, cereal, and occasionally soup. My friend introduced me to Body Armor drinks (essentially flavored coconut water) and that is the only way I’ve been able to stay hydrated. Now that I’m starting to come out of morning sickness, I’ve been able to introduce lots of fruits and vegetables back into my diet, but still no meat. Just the idea of cooking meat makes me gag!

Body Changes

I was not expecting to see my body change so early on in my pregnancy, but here we are! With Aimery, I didn’t start gaining weight or showing at all until the end of my second trimester. This time around, I’ve already gained weight and I’m starting to show a tiny bit! I know every pregnancy is different, and circumstances are a little bit different this time around with staying less active due to the pandemic, so I’m not sweating it. I also have been really dizzy and catch myself standing up way to quickly - I’m giving myself lots of time to rest!

Gender Guesses

With so many things the same, and so many things different, it’s hard to take a guess at this point! Definitely experiencing much more morning sickness this time around, but cravings are the same, so who really knows! According to the Mayan Calendar, it does predict a girl. Aimery is hoping for a sister!

Favorite Apps

I am obsessed with pregnancy apps and love learning more about the baby’s growth week-by-week. There are so many resources available this time around, it’s crazy how much has changed in 5 years since I was pregnant with Aimery! Right now, my favorite apps are Ovia, What to Expect, and The Bump. Ovia is probably my favorite because they give you daily development updates and a weekly to-do list. I also love The Bump because they give you a weekly 3D image of how the baby and my body is growing. Aimery frequently asks to see the baby’s picture - it’s so cute!
