13 Week Pregnancy Update

I can’t believe this is my last bumpdate for the first trimester! As much as I don’t want to wish time away during this pregnancy, I am SO happy to be just about done with the first trimester. I’ve had a rough few months with morning sickness, aversions, and lightheadedness. This is the first week I’ve started to feel a little bit more myself, and I’m looking forward to having my energy back!

Today I had my 13 week appointment, and the last appointment I’ll have for quite some time. Due to COVID, my midwife office is spacing out appointments, so I won’t be seen again for another two months.

DUE DATE

As I mentioned on my last bumpdate, they guessed that my due date was around November 3rd. However, today they put me at October 31st, which means we may have a Halloween baby!

CRAVINGS

My first craving this pregnancy has been Chick-fil-A lemonade! There was about two days where I literally could not stop thinking about it 😂 I still crave it every single day. And since baby is the size of a lemon this week - it must be meant to be. 🍋

AVERSIONS

I’ve been able to introduce a lot more foods into my diet over the last couple of weeks. I still stick to more bland foods, but I’ve been able to reintroduce healthier carbs, protein, fruit, and some vegetables. I can also drink water without feeling sick! At this time, I still stay away from any meat besides chicken and really anything with a lot of flavor.

BODY CHANGES

After finding out that I gained weight at my last appointment (about a month ago) I haven’t gained any since. I haven’t showed much more then I did at 10 weeks, either! Now that I’m starting to have more energy, I’ve been able to do some gentle exercise during the day like going for short walks with Aimery, yoga, and stretching. I’m still taking it easy since I get out of breath and lightheaded easily - I’m known to have fainting spells so I’m doing what I can to rest!

GENDER GUESSES

Today we found out the gender - and I’m so excited to share with you all! We did a DNA blood test last week that allowed us to receive the news early. Stay tuned!

HOW BIG BROTHER IS DOING

Aimery is SUPER excited about the baby and can’t wait to be a big brother. He is pretending that his favorite stuffed animals are his babies and treats them so gently, and yells at anyone who gets near them. It’s sooo cute. He’s still hoping for a little sister! I plan to get him a doll so he can practice holding being a big brother for the next couple of months. He asks me everyday how big the baby is, asks to see my belly, asks if the baby is punching inside 🤪 and he will kiss the baby goodnight. BRB, CRYING.
