18 Week Pregnancy Update

It’s been a while since my last bumpdate - time is going by so quickly! Now that I am well into my second trimester, I feel more myself again and haven’t been focusing on my pregnancy as much, as I’ve been spending most of my time catching up on everything that has been put on hold over the last few months when I couldn’t get out of bed! We have been doing small projects around the house, creating our wishlist, and preparing the loft to be turned into a nursery. We got her crib in a few weeks ago and have been starting to gather small things like diapers, clothes, and a baby bath! We also decided on her name, and can’t wait to share it with you all when she arrives.

HOW BABY GIRL IS DOING

Baby girl is now the size of an artichoke, almost 6 inches and 7 oz! She can also yawn, hiccup, suck, and swallow. Any day now, I’ll be able to start feeling her rolling and punching around! Although I haven’t felt any kicks yet, I can feel fluttering around in there! I can’t wait for the day when Ben and Aimery get to feel her kicks. 🥰Because of COVID, I haven’t seen my midwife in over a month. I won’t go into the office again until the end of June when we will finally be able to see baby girl for the first time on an ultrasound! I’m SO excited!

HOW I’M DOING

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been slowly getting my appetite back! Which is just in time for some weird cravings… In my 13 week bumpdate, I shared that my first craving was Chick-fil-A lemonade. Since then, I’ve been craving sweet potato fries WITH jalapeños! It’s the weirdest thing! Although my diet is almost back to normal, my energy levels are still a lot lower then they were pre-pregnancy. Maybe it’s running after a three year old more often during this time at home, or maybe it’s the pregnancy, who really knows?! I’ve also been dealing with a lot of back pain and sore feet after running around during the day, and that combined with feeling lightheaded has me taking things much slower. I’m trying to rest as much as possible and take it easy! I feel as though I’m not showing any more then I was four weeks ago, but there’s definitely a little bump there! I’ve been started to work on my maternity wardrobe and posted about my must haves, here.

HOW BIG BROTHER IS DOING

Aimery definitely is starting to understand that there is a baby in my belly, especially as I start showing more! He loves hearing about the weekly updates and touching my stomach to try to feel kicks. He especially enjoys lifting up my shirt in my public to share the baby with everyone 🤪
