Bang Bang Fish Tacos

As promised, I’m here to share my Bang Bang Fish Tacos! This is one of our favorite recipes and it’s so easy to make - only takes 15 minutes. Keep reading for my fish taco recipe!

What you’ll need…

For the Fish

  • 4 tilapia filets

  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup cornstarch

  • Oil for frying

For the Slaw

  • 2 cups green cabbage, shredded

  • 2 cups purple cabbage, shredded

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • Salt and pepper

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/2 cup sriracha

  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Make the slaw: In a large bowl, toss cabbage, honey, and lime juice together until evenly combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Make the Bang Bang sauce: In a separate small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, and honey. Set aside.

  3. Prepare the tilapia: Pat dry the tilapia. Season fish with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large pan. While the oil is heating, toss tilapia with buttermilk before transferring to cornstarch. Toss until evenly combined.

  4. Cook the tilapia: Cook fish on medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Transfer the tilapia to a plate lined with paper towel to soak any excess oil.

  5. Assemble the tacos: For each taco, layer about half a piece of tilapia over a flour tortilla on top of prepared slaw. Serve with Bang Bang sauce and serve immediately.

Enjoy!
