How to Create the Ultimate Hot Dog Bar
This post is sponsored by Oscar Mayer
Our family has been passing some serious milestones over the last few months, including Aimery turning 4 years old!! I wanted to make this birthday feel super special for Aims because it was his last birthday being an only child. Aimery’s birthday party was so special this year and I have been so proud to watch him grow and develop every day. We decided to throw him an Adventure themed party with an ultimate hot dog bar - which happens to be his favorite food. It was a huge hit!
The party planner in me decided to go full out with adorable safari decorations and delicious birthday treats. And of course our hot dog bar was complete with all of his favorite toppings! Having a hot dog bar at kid’s birthday parties is so easy to prepare, and something everyone will love. Keep reading for three easy steps to setting up the ultimate hot dog bar!
Hot Dogs
For any hot dog bar, it’s pretty obvious that you’ll need some hot dogs! We are huge fans of Oscar Mayer products, so we used their natural Turkey Franks and Natural Beef Franks for this year’s hot dog bar. Ben cooked the hotdogs on our grill and then I placed them on a simple white platter with hot dog buns.
Toppings
You guys probably know by now that Aimery is a picky eater, so deciding on toppings was a group effort. For our hot dog bar, we decided to use cheddar cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, red onion, white onion, Oscar Mayer Natural Bacon, lettuce and pickles. I put each topping into their own white dishes and placed them in a neat way on the table with the hot dog platter. All of the toppings were such a hit, especially the bacon! And jalapeños on hot dogs were something I would have never thought to try, but turned out really good!
Sauces
We kept the sauces pretty basic because of the endless topping options. Aimery decided on ketchup, but then Ben and I made the executive decision to also add mustard and relish. Like the toppings, I put each sauce into its own white dish so that everything matched and looked nice together. These sauces are all you really need!
Simply set up all of these ingredients on a long table, add some decor for the occasion, build your hot dogs, and enjoy!
