Our Family is Growing
I’m so excited to be sharing these words… I’m pregnant! We are so excited to be expanding our family this fall. Now that we’ve shared this exciting news with our family and friends, I’ll be sharing monthly bumpdates throughout my pregnancy!
If six months ago you told me that I would be pregnant this year, I NEVER would have believed you. Having Aimery was a traumatic experience for me and I wasn’t sure I was ready for more then one child. But three months ago, I had an overwhelming feeling of knowing that we needed to expand our family. I really saw Ben step up and grow into being such a wonderful dad to Aimery, that I knew that Aimery needed a little brother or sister. The timing was right and so we started trying - three months later we got a positive test!
Aimery has been telling everyone this week that he’s “no longer the baby, I’m a big brother” and it brings me to tears every time. He is going to be the best older brother and we can not wait to bring another little one into our family. I am now 7 weeks pregnant, which to some may seem too early to be sharing about our pregnancy. However, I have been sharing about us trying for a baby over the last three months on Instagram and it doesn’t seem right to keep this a secret. Plus, with my all-day sickness, it would have been real hard to keep this quiet if we wanted too!
I found out I was pregnant the third day of my missed period, February 26th. I took the first pregnancy test on Friday, 3 days before my missed period and it was negative. I assumed I wasn’t pregnant, since I found out I was pregnant with Aims 6 days before. I was definitely surprised when the second test came positive!
I started having all-day sickness right away. Instant exhaustion, like nothing I’ve ever felt. Everyone knows that I do not slow down - I have two businesses to run and a toddler to chase after! But these last 3 weeks have been very humbling as I’ve had to give up control in all areas, work and home, and I’m so lucky to have so many people around me that are stepping up to help more so I can rest. Ben always has done more than his fair share around the house, but lately has really been running the show and I’m so lucky to have him as my partner through this.
Week 4-6 symptoms
In terms of pregnancy symptoms, I’ve been feeling a lot of the same things as when I was pregnant with Aimery, but much more extreme. I had a lot of motion sickness with Aimery and I’m starting to develop that this time around as well. The exhaustion, all-day sickness, and dizziness are all big symptoms I am also experiencing. I immediately started craving carrots and orange juice, just like I did with Aims! Besides that, I can’t eat much else besides granola/protein bars. The smell of cheese and meat makes me gag and I’m not doing that well with pasta either. Hoping this will change over the next week or two!
I’m so excited to share about my pregnancy journey with you guys, thanks for your support
