How To Sanitize Your Child’s Favorite Stuffed Animal

Before Aimery was born, I was given a stuffed elephant for him as a baby shower gift. I put it in his crib and was excited to give Aimery the elephant when he came home from the hospital. I have the cutest newborn photos of Aimery with what was later known as “Ellie the Elephant”. Aimery is very attached to his favorite stuffed animals, just like I was when I was a child! We tuck them in every night before bed, he kisses them every morning, and takes them along on all of his adventures. If you are a parent, I don’t have to tell you how quickly our children’s stuffed friends can get dirty after just one trip to the park or every day love at home! Recently, Aimery’s Ellie has been in desperate need of a good wash. I had no idea how I was supposed to go about washing Ellie until a recent event I attended with Lysol in NYC!
During this amazing event hosted by Momtrends with Lysol, we heard from incredible speakers about how to fix and sanitize our children’s favorite stuffed animals. I enjoyed a beautiful brunch with some other incredible moms, and we shared stories about our little one’s favorite teddy’s, stuffed animals, and blankets! Although all of our stories were different, we all shared a common problem, which was not knowing how to sanitize the stuffed animals that our children love so much! Keep reading for some amazing tips from Lysol on how to sanitize the teddy’s that our babies love so much.
Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer
Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer is a one-of-a-kind product that is safe to use on washable fabric items, whether you are washing your work clothes or your child’s favorite stuffed friend! I love that Lysol® kills 99.9% of bacteria that regular detergents may leave behind (when used as directed). I feel so much more comfortable knowing that when using Lysol®, I’m keeping Aimery’s stuffed animals sanitized. Did you know that washing laundry and stuffed animals with regular detergent in cold water does not kill all bacteria?! You have to be extra careful while doing wash since regular detergent may not kill the harmful bacteria that cause illness like staph infections. By using Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer in your home, you will help eliminate these sickness-and odor-causing bacteria.
I love how easy Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer is to use. For standard machines, just fill 2 capfuls to line 1 of the provided dosing cup. If you have an HE machine, instead fill 2 capfuls to line 2 of the dosing cup. Pour the capfuls of Laundry Santizer to the fabric softener compartment at the start of the launch cycle, and relax knowing your favorite clothing and stuffed animals are being cleaned well! Don’t have a fabric softener dispenser? No worries! Just wait until the rinse cycle to add the Laundry Santizer directly to the drum of the machine for 16 minutes. Once cleaned, stuffed animals come out sanitized killing 99.9% of bacteria!
I’m so glad that I was able to attend this event with Momtrends and learn more about Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer! Now that I’m back home, I’ve been able to wash all of Aimery’s favorite stuffed animals along with his baby blanket. Using Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer gives me one less thing to worry about, as I know that Aimery’s stuffed friends are being properly sanitized.
