Adlavie's Favorites: Newborn Must Haves
Hi everyone! Adlavie has been a part of our family for three months now and I can’t believe how quickly this season has gone by! Having Adlavie made me feel like a first time mom all over again since we haven’t done the newborn stage in over 4 years now! There are so many great products out there that we have used over the last three months that have made it so much easier this time around. I’m all about keeping it minimal so I kept this list as short as possible while also sharing everything you could ever need for your newborn. Maybe use this list as a guide for forming your registry or for gifting a first time mom. Remember - all your baby really needs is you (okay, and some diapers!). Keep reading for our newborn must have list!
FEEDING:
We tried a few of the most popular and aesthetic baby bottles, but Adlavie kept bringing us back to these. They were the same bottles we used with Aimery and I love how these have a vent that removes air from milk for less gassy babies. Although there are many parts to wash, they are worth it!
I wrote a whole review of this breast pump during my pregnancy here, and it has lived up to its expectations! It’s less than a pound, portable, has a 2 hour pumping life, and tracks pumping sessions via bluetooth. It’s an affordable option for moms pumping at home or on the go!
This is a splurge item I wasn’t sure was truly necessary, but I’m so glad we ended up receiving one! Although my plan was to exclusively pump for Adlvaie for six months, our journey didn’t go as planned! We ended up having to supplement formula with Adlavie right away since my milk didn’t come in until about a week postpartum. I also stopped breastfeeding at two months so we have already got a lot of use out of this formula maker! It's like a Keurig for your baby, simply press a button to have the perfect bottle of formula! The only downside is that some parts need cleaned 1-2 times a day and we are also refilling the water daily.
SLEEPING:
I can not talk enough about the SNOO, it has been a game changer! We rented the SNOO a few weeks before my due date in case she arrived early and I was so excited to use it with her! The first month I didn’t find much use from the settings because she was an easy sleeper, but I used it so much more starting at 4 weeks old. Adlavie has been mostly sleeping through the night since 8 weeks old and I really do have SNOO to thank for that (along with our Taking Cara Babies course).
We used this swaddle SO much during the first month of having Adlavie and I wish I had brought it to the hospital with me! From the beginning, Adlavie has been able to escape her swaddle, even when nurses would double swaddle her at the hospital! The Ollie has a velcro swaddle that keeps babies swaddled all night long. It’s truly the only one you need!
Adlavie spent most of her newborn days in this basket. The included insert is great for daytime lounging and supervised naps!
GEAR:
We’ve used the diaper genie for both kids and it’s a great way to dispose of diapers!
Along with the SNOO, this is my favorite product for Adlvaie. I have endless peace of mind knowing that she is sleeping safely through the night. Ben and I both have the Owlet app on our phones where we are able to see/hear her on the monitor while also tracking her heart and lung stats through her smart sock. Both the base and the app will loudly alarm us if her stats fall under her normal readings. Ben is a really sound sleeper and he even woke up the one time her stats went down!
We love everything from Lovery! The activity gym has been so fun for Adlavie as it has 5 Montessori-inspired development zones that take Adlvaie from tummy time to play fort! The toys are made with 100% organic cotton and non-toxic paint. We also love their play kits subscription boxes that include play essentials for each stage of development.
These BPA-free pacifiers are made in Denmark and are Adlavie’s favorite! They mimic both the shape and soft materials of mothers’ breast while having a classic look that’s both timeless and elegant!
I bought this while quickly browsing at Target and had no idea how much we would use it! This $11 portable soother is battery operated and easily attaches to car seats, strollers, baby bags, etc. The white noise puts Adlavie right to sleep!
This baby wrap is SO soft and lives up to all the hype from other moms. Adlavie spent so many of her newborn days in this wrap!
Once she was about 6-8 weeks old, we transitioned her to this carrier. Ben wears her using this carrier multiple times a day, even at four months old!
CHANGING
You can’t beat this $4 changing table necessity! It makes it easy to use diaper cream without getting your hands dirty! It’s gentle on baby’s skin and has a suction base.
The only thing we found to help prevent and treat Adlavie’s diaper rash was coconut oil and this rash cream! Most of the ones on the market broke out her sensitive skin.
This was one of my first amazon purchases after having Adlavie. It made the middle of the night diaper changes SO easy without any zippers or snaps. This is what I will be buying every new mom from now on!
These are my favorite sleepers because they have reversible zippers for easy diaper changing, and they keep her so warm at night!

FURNITURE
This convertible crib converts to a toddler bed, daybed, and sofa! It has pretty gold accents that really stand out as well.
We went with this dresser because it easily converts to a changing table! We always go with Delta dressers for both kids because they always include anchor systems to keep the dresser anchored to the wall and our babies safe.
One of the most important things you need in a nursery is a comfortable chair! This one rocks, swivels, glides, and reclines while being so cozy! Make sure to grab the 20% off coupon!
CAR SEAT AND STROLLER
We have always used Evenflo products for Aimery, so choosing this brand for Adlavie was a no brainer. I love this car seat and stroller combo because it is lightweight and versatile. You can use the stroller six different ways!
SUMMER’S FAVORITES
I have no regrets getting this diaper bag! I always use it as a backpack and it has so much storage. I will even use it once she’s out of diapers!
I use these tumblrs every day! I brought one to the hospital with me and used it so much during postpartum and breastfeeding to stay hydrated.
These are my favorite nursing bras because they are made with high quality cotton and don’t have any clasps or snaps. They make breastfeeding easy and will never constrict!
My only regret is not bringing this to the hospital with me!
I have these in every color! Definitely grab the black for the first few weeks!
If you plan to pump then you need this fridge on your pumping station! It can hold all of my pumping parts and an extra bottle for overnight feedings!
