Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls

Combining two of the best things, apple pie and cinnamon rolls! These cinnamon rolls are so yummy and have me believing it's actually fall, despite living in the desert where it is still very warm. Really easy to make, you can also swap for homemade cinnamon rolls if you'd rather!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375° degrees Fahrenheit and line a small baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter. Allow the butter to brown until it smells toasted and is a deep golden brown, stirring often, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Once the butter is a deep golden brown, remove it from the heat and add the diced apples to the pan, along with brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon. Gently toss to combine.
  4. Using a mesh strainer, strain the excess syrup from the apples and reserve the liquid for the icing. Set aside the apples to cool, and return the apple liquid back to the pan.
  5. Unravel the packaged cinnamon rolls so each cinnamon roll is completely unrolled. Divide the apple filling between each roll, layering on top of the inner cinnamon side, and then roll each cinnamon roll back into a round.
  6. Place the rolls into the parchment lined baking dish, and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. While the cinnamon rolls bake, prepare the icing by adding the pre-made icing from the Grands Cinnamon Rolls to the reserved apple filling sauce. Add cream cheese to the pan and whisk until smooth.
  8. Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool for 5-10 minutes before spreading the icing over the rolls. Enjoy!
