Big Game Nacho Bar

Happy almost National Cheddar Day! This year, National Cheddar Day and the Big Game fall on the same day! To celebrate this momentous occasion, I’m creating a delicious and super easy to make buffet-style nacho bar! Whether a commercial is on so you have a few seconds to spare, or you just need a second plate, a nacho bar is always the way to go! It’s so easy to set up, yet steals the show every single year. Plus, being a mom of two, this recipe is absolutely busy mom approved! Grab some tortilla chips and Tillamook Farmstyle Thick Cut Shredded Cheddar to create your own nacho bar alongside me!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Tortilla chips
Tillamook Farmstyle Thick Cut Shredded Cheddar
Ground beef
Sour cream
Tomatoes - chopped
Corn
Black beans
Salsa
Jalapeños - chopped
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all purpose flour
First things first - decide if you want to create a nacho bar or nacho table. A nacho bar will need bowls and serving spoons. The TikTok trendy nacho table starts by wrapping the table with tin foil, then piling the ingredients on top. The table style is like a large pre-made plate of nachos while a nacho bar is more individualized, making it better for a longer-term party food. The nacho table can be a bit messy, but it’s also a super fun idea - especially with kids! To keep things easy this year, I’m going with a nacho bar.
To start off, you’ll want to make sure you have enough tortilla chips and Tillamook Farmstyle Thick Cut Shredded Cheddar on hand. These two are your nacho bar staples, so grab a few extra bags! Tillamook Cheddar is obviously the best cheddar cheese because it’s aged longer to give a bolder taste. We almost always have a bag or two of Tillamook Cheddar Farmstyle Thick Cut Shreds in our fridge because they’re cut bigger for more bold and melty flavor! With the Big Game and National Cheddar Day on the same day, I’m only picking up Tillamook Cheddar to make the party unforgettable! You can grab some at your local Walmart or online at Walmart.com. Tillamook will elevate your game watching experience this year, so let’s get it all melty for the nachos!
DIRECTIONS:
Set out each ingredient in a separate bowl. Make sure you have something to scoop each one! Keep things sanitary and have a separate spoon for each bowl. I'm using these small appetizer bowls - how fun!
On the stove, melt butter. Whisk in the all purpose flour until combined. Mix in Tillamook Shreds until combined. Pour into a separate bowl and place it on your nacho bar.
Set out the plates and napkins (extra napkins for the messy adults 🤪)
Turn on the big game and enjoy!
*Keep an eye on the food throughout the night. Be sure to rewarm any food that is getting too cold!
