Coffee chat! We are currently on day 6 of quarantine, and finally starting to feel like we are in somewhat of a routine with staying home. Social distancing means different things to different people - but for us, it means we are not leaving the house (besides playing in the backyard) or seeing anyone. It has been really hard for me not seeing my parents during this time, but we believe it’s the best choice. Now that we are more comfortable in a routine, we are taking the day to find ways to cut expenses during this time at home. Here are 15 easy expenses we are cutting out!

15 WAYS WE ARE CUTTING EXPENSES

  1. App Subscriptions - we are all guilty with signing up for free trails and forgetting to cancel them! To find hidden app fees, go to settings > apple ID > subscriptions to cancel on your mobile device.

  2. Apple/Google Music - Ben and I both cancelled our music services since we can listen to free music (with ads) on our google home or laptops.

  3. Amazon Prime - We don’t plan to order anything else from Amazon for the next few months!

  4. Car Wash Membership - this was a small fight, they argued that I can technically still get an exterior wash and that was a big NO for me.

  5. Gym Memberships - Most gyms will freeze your membership if the government shuts down non-essential businesses in your state, but check just to make sure!

  6. Spray Tan Membership - guilty.

  7. Meal Delivery Services - We have decided to cook from home and no longer use them.

  8. Adobe - I am able to use Google Docs for most of my business, so this was easy to cancel. They also give you the option for 2 free months as a promotion when you cancel 😉

  9. Canva Pro - Not a “need”

  10. Website features - I had a few website features for my business that I was able to cut and save a few dollars a month.

  11. Netflix - We switched to the Basic plan, saving us $7 a month.

  12. We combined Hulu, Disney +, and ESPN - saving us 25% a month.

  13. Less online shopping - We are only ordering essential household items, and not planning to update our spring wardrobe (no one will see it anyways 🤪)

  14. Conserving energy - Keep lights off as much as possible during daylight hours and unplug things when done using to help electricity bill.

  15. Water - Run dishwasher only when it’s full, combine laundry to reduce water, take shorter showers.
