We are so excited for baby girl to join our family next month, and have been spending the week at the lake house giving Aimery our full attention before his sister gets here! We’ve been having so much fishing on the dock, playing lots of games, and relaxing in the hot tub. We’ve also made the time to check off things on our baby to-do list, like making sure our wills and Erie Life Insurance policies are up to date!

Ben and I try our best not to think about the worst case scenarios as a family of four, but we need to be realistic and plan ahead for the future. One way we have been preparing for baby #2 is by investing in life insurance. I got Erie Life Insurance through just a few years ago when I started traveling more for work. And this past year, Ben also got Erie Life Insurance to protect our family. As young parents, we were looking for financial protection for our kids in the event that something happens to either of us. While I know this is terrifying to think about (trust me, pregnancy brain has made me more emotional than ever, so I’m right there with you mamas), Ben and I both feel better knowing that we have the protection if our kids ever need it.

Did you know that life insurance rates tend to rise with age? Most people think life insurance is an investment for later on in life, but our family is starting now. Early bird catches the worm… am I right? Well, we just want to be prepared and feel like we are setting our kids up for any circumstances they may face in life. Erie Insurance recently conducted a national survey to see how well people understand life insurance, and the reasons they do and don’t buy it. Check out some of the surprising findings here! The Erie Insurance survey found that many people are confused about life insurance, including how it works, what it covers, and how much costs. It may not cost as much as you think it would! I owe it to my babies to provide them with the life Ben and I constantly dream about for them. I honestly hate thinking about all of this, but with baby #2 on her way and Aimery getting older, it’s so important to prepare for the worst.

There are so many benefits of investing in life insurance. Life insurance helps with paying off debt, house payments, ongoing living expenses, fund college education for children and grandchildren, and the list truly goes on and on. When you need it, life insurance is always there and ready to help. Ben and I made sure that we chose a package that made the most sense for our family and have worked really hard to think about our kids first. We haven’t met baby girl yet, but I know her future is so bright and I can’t wait to watch her develop and grow. It’s so difficult to think about potentially missing any part of your child’s life, but Ben and I have been strong for each other and are doing what we feel is best for her and Aimery. These are conversations that need to be had, no matter how hard they might be. Do your research and find a plan that works for your family. Protect your little treasures and set them up for the brightest futures.
