My New Year Wellness Routine

It’s this time of year where we begin to see all of the “new year, new me” posts, and I encourage you to be more mindful of the goals you are creating for 2021 so you can maintain them throughout the year! This year, I am setting realistic wellness goals and making small changes to my routine that will be easy for me to carry on. I believe that being mindful of when a wellness reset is necessary is important, whether it happens in January or anytime during the year! Especially with working from home more and having a newborn, this year is so important for me to focus on my overall wellness. Keep reading for 3 ways I am resetting my wellness routine!

PRACTICING YOGA AND MEDITATION

When I was pregnant with Adlavie, I found yoga to be very helpful as a form of relaxation and exercise. It allowed me to stretch my body during my pregnancy and really feel centered on days that I felt out of control. Although I don’t always have time for yoga every day being a working mom, I do make time for mediation while I’m driving or getting ready in the morning. I have found that on days where I meditate, I’m able to carry a better sense of mindfulness as I run my business and parent my kids.

DRINKING MORE WATER

It’s a proven fact that the majority of people aren’t drinking enough water, myself included. Drinking water is a large part of my overall wellness so I am looking to be more mindful about drinking enough water throughout the day. One way I am adding this into my routine is making sure I am filling up my water tumbler at every meal and finishing it before I eat again. It’s an easy way to make sure I’m sticking to a routine and drinking enough during the day!

LIVING IN MODERATION

One of the best ways I can practice wellness is to live in moderation. Although I like to practice mindfulness in all aspects, I believe that you can also live in moderation when it comes to indulging in life’s pleasures. After all, life is meant to be lived, and fun is meant to be had! Oh, and we can’t forget that dessert is meant to be eaten - am I right? Even when you are practicing living a healthier lifestyle, there’s nothing wrong with also having a treat every now and again.
