Going Vegan and Working Out!

Before having Aimery, I was really into staying fit and being active. In high school, I went to the gym at least once a day (sometimes twice when my girl friends would drag me to zumba or spin). This continued throughout college and I continued to love weight lifting, running, intramural soccer, and yoga. I absolutely loved being able to take care of my body, not only through working out, but also by eating healthy.

When I got pregnant with Aimery, I stopped working out and taking the time to focus on my health. This laxidasical lifestyle continued after Aimery was born. Apparently motherhood is a LOT more hectic then I thought it was going to be! I've gone through stages this past year where I have tried to get back into working out and going to the gym regularly, but I was never able to keep it up. Whether it was moving, long days of motherhood, running my own business, or just the chaos of life, I constantly got out of my routine and got frustrated about it. Over the last couple of months I entirely gave up and didn't even make an effort to focus on my health at all.

This is all going to change. I am promising myself (and everyone reading this!) that starting September 1st, I will be active daily. Whether this means going to hot yoga with the hubby, working out at the gym, going swimming with Aimery, or going on hikes -- at least one of those things is going to happen EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. I am also going to (finally) transition to becoming vegan, which is something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time. Since we are moving to Florida on Sunday, it's going to be the best time to make the change in diet -- the only food I'm allowed to buy for our new kitchen is vegan food! Eating healthy definitely motivates me to work out.

Another thing that motivates me to stay active is having cute workout clothes! Who else feels the need to be put together when when heading to the gym? Personally, when I look good, I feel good -- and I'm much more motivated to work out hard! Something I recently added to my wardrobe are Inkkas Global Footwear. I'm normally REALLY picky about brand of shoes I wear while working out, so I was a little nervous about trying a new brand. Although I don't like a lot of support in my shoes while running, I absolutely LOVE wearing my Jasmine FlexAire while hiking because they have a lot of support. They are also going to be great for weight lifting days at the gym.

Not only do they have awesome support, but they are SUPER cute! Inkkas is passionate about creating shoes that are inspired from patterns and cities from around the world -- these are inspired from India's peacocks and the royal buildings in Mumbai. The teal shoes with bronze leaves are definitely a statement piece for any outfit. Inkkas are handcrafted by artisans in Latin America, and they also plant one tree for every pair of shoes sold -- which I love ❤️

I love that something as simple as buying shoes can motivate me to work out and focus on my health! I'm so excited for a new beginning for my health this September.

These shoes are on final sale for $20 off, and if you find a different pair you love use my discount code SUMMER20 for 20% off your purchase!

I have been sponsored by Inkkas Global Footwear for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
